The hitter faces parallel to the fence at a length of less than one bat. Hitter will imagine an inside pitch and swings the bat dragging bat’s head behind the hands until out in front of the body and then extending bat’s head towards the imaginary ball. This drill will help develop a short quick swing, and this can be used as a batting practice station.

Up the middle

Many hitting problems can occur for the player when the player is not being able to wait for the ball. By trying to hit the ball up the middle the hitter is forced to stay back and balanced.Pitches will throw batting practice pitches to the hitter and the hitter tries to hit the ball back to the screen.This drill can be used as a batting practice station.

Sacrifice Bunt Drill

Get 5 to 6 players spread out in front of you, each of which will take their stance and get ready for the pitch. Coach will simulate a stretch followed by the delivery of an imaginary pitch. Each player will work on the proper timing of getting in position to bunt.

Simulated Swing

Each player gets into his stance.The coach will simulate a windup and deliver an imaginary pitch and yell inside or outside as he delivers the pitch.The player will coil, stride, and then swing at that imaginary pitch.Helps player identify the important parts of the swing.

Coil

Each player will have proper grip on the bat and step into an imaginary batters box, you can use a glove instead of a plate.Players will take their stance and get ready for the pitch while the coach will simulate a windup and deliver an imaginary pitch. The hitter will work on his coil and freeze when he has completed it.This drill will develop a routine for the player for getting into the box, getting into their stance and coiling.
